Accessibility for the Disabled
The Art Centre Silkeborg Bad has excellent accessibility to disabled visitors: Handicap parking spaces, handicap elevator, wheelchair ramps and toilets for disabled guests.
The Art Centre parking lot has two spaces for the disabled. These spaces are the ones closest to the main entrance. Assistants accompanying disabled guests are allowed to drive closer to the entrance and let off their passengers. Subsequently, cars must be parked in the parking area.
The Art Centre has a wheelchair that is available to guests. It may be used by anyone who needs it, and it can be found inside the doors by the entrance. The staff will assist arriving wheelchair users.
Service dogs are allowed in the exhibition.
Accessibility in the exhibition halls
Kurbygningen (the main exhibition hall): Generally, Kurbygningen has excellent accessibility to disabled visitors. This building allows wheelchair access to all halls and to the café, and there is an elevator between the ground level and the first floor. Further, the reception area has toilets for disabled guests. A set of rails has been constructed between halls in two places – one stationary and one movable.
Skovvilla (“Forest Villa”): This exhibition villa has been renovated very carefully, and thus it has no elevator to the first floor, but it is possible to move around in a wheelchair on the ground floor. Wheelchair rails are used at the entrance.
The Sculpture Park: Large parts of the Sculpture Park area can be enjoyed by wheelchair users.
