Tree-botanical walk in the park

A tree-botanical, dendrological hike offers experiences and knowledge about nature.Therefore, 73 trees and shrubs around the park are marked with signs showing species identification in Danish and Latin. Some also refer to their natural and cultural history.

Silkeborg Vandkuranstalt was established in the forest in 1883. The park was designed as a recreation area with various trees and shrubs and especially exotic species.

Since then, the park has undergone major changes. The large beech trees, douglas firs, oak trees, the elder swamp along Ørnsø, and the large lime tree at the main entrance Kurbygningen have been preserved.
